Internet Marketing Archives

Writing an article is more than just putting down thoughts. Ideally, you want to capture your readers interest so that they will keep on reading. In order to get your message across you have to have a firm understanding of what their interests are so that you can get them to not read just one article, but also to want to search you out for information.

An important part of creating a great article is to have a large dose of creativity. While creativity comes natural to many people, there are others who just get a mental block, where all we feel like doing is tearing our hair out. After hours of staring blankly at a computer screen or piece of paper, we walk away in utter frustration, wondering how even considered that we could write an appealing article.

Creating an image with words is an art, but it is thankfully an art that all people can develop. A clear depiction does require a certain flair that only creativity can provide. Using similes and metaphors can help a lot, but ultimately how an article flows word by word, sentence by sentence, and paragraph by paragraph, is what designates a good and interesting article.

So, what do you have to do when your mind is blank? Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed method to get the perfect ideas, but there are some easy techniques to get your creative thinking juices flowing. Here are four easy ways to help overcome the mental block and improve your creative writing for your website.

1) Keep a diary or journal with you at all times. Ideas can be triggered at any time and you want to write them out as they happen. Let your senses be your radar for finding great article ideas. Write any and all of your ideas into the journal and keep it with you for future reference. You also want to write down anything that you have read or heard, all ideas can be used to develop into your own ideas. This is not stealing, unless you copy it word for word. Ideas and creativity can come from anywhere, but it is the development of those ideas that make them uniquely yours.

If you find that a lot of ideas are coming to you when you are driving, carry a small tape recorder and save them. Many times you will find that your ideas flow and you are not in a position to write, but by adding a recorder you will still have these ideas available to you at a better time.

2) Stay relaxed and take the time to sort ideas out. A scrambled mind will not create new ideas. You must have a clear mind if you wish to have creativity at full speed. Get rid of all obstacles that can be a hindrance to your creativity, when something is bothering you, it is very difficult to force your mind to keep focused.

Use relaxation techniques just before sitting down to write and think about your experiences and interactions with others. Your personal and business experiences are what shape your thinking and opinions, use these in your your writing. You want to discover your voice through your emotions. What inspires you and what ticks you off. Use these emotions to help you express yourself and your ideas.

3) Have a working place that will inspire your creativeness. If your work space does make you happy and relaxed, it will be a hindrance to good writing. Creativity is a result of being in a good state of mind and a messy workplace will cause distraction. Surround your working space with things that make you happy and help you relax. It may be putting up pictures, aromatherapy, or objects that inspire you. Use whatever you can to get yourself in a relaxed mood and you will find your creative juices flowing.

4) Get away and do something out of your normal routine. Allowing yourself to have fun produces adrenaline which can help your imagination go in totally new directions. By breaking your normal routine, you can create new experiences, which lead to different thought patterns. In no time your ability for creative thinking will use the new experience and get your imagination to go into overdrive.

Since all people have different thoughts and feelings, we all have our own creative abilities, but may not believe that they are different. By using the four creative thinking techniques from above, you can improve your creative thinking when writing for your website. The hardest part is actually starting to write, but once you tap into your creative side it can become an enjoyable experience.

Email signature – One of the best places to advertise is on your email signature. It’s a non threatening way to advertise your business, and sometimes people click on it without even realizing what it is. Don’t make it long or complicated, just let them know what it is that you do.

It’s a good way to connect with others and meet some new friends, as well as find new clients. Don’t be pushy or too sales orientated as you will turn people away, but naturally discuss what you do.

Business Scams On The Internet

There is a lot of talk about scams on the Internet and with the economy in poor shape the there is a definite increase. The question becomes when is it a scam and when is it a legitimate business?

There is a lot of news right now on the Nigerian e-mail scam. It has resurfaced where a ‘lawyer’ or escrow company, or banker, is asking for your assistance in releasing funds from a bank of a deceased person. For your help, they will pay you a massive amount of money. This is a scam, and people are falling for it. Why, because they want something for nothing.

Now, that is the essence of how legitimate businesses get the label of being a scam. If you want to know if a business is a potential scam, the ones that claim you can achieve a lot of money with no work are near the top of the suspect list.

Building a business requires work, online or off. What you put into it is exactly what you get out of it. Most of us have seen the shows on television where people buy a house and flip it. The majority of those people are barely breaking even or in fact losing money. But we do not consider that flipping is a scam. The people who lose out are just using bad business practice.

On the internet, you rarely see people talking about bad business practice, yet it occurs on a regular basis. Far too many people are getting involved in business online, failing, then calling it a scam. They have no budget, no plan, just the hope that if they toss money around and put in no work, they will become instant millionaires.

There are scams on the internet, unfortunately there will always be people willing to take advantage of the desperate, but to paint all internet business with the same brush is wrong. The reality of business is people fail more often due to poor planning and work ethic than they do from scams.

If you are questioning a program do your research to determine if it is a scam. Are they making promises of big money with no work? Can you find out who the owner is and have a method of contacting them? Scams exist in business, so before you invest understand what will be required for you to succeed, and remember if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Many people are using strategies in affiliate marketing that causes them to fail. Of course they are not doing this on purpose, but they are still doing it.

The failure rate in affiliate marketing is extremely high, but it is not as high as it used to be. In fact it could be that as high as two out of 10 people are now succeeding. It used to be that 95% of people failed when trying to Make Money as an affiliate marketer.

Part of the reason is because people define success at in different ways, which helps explain why more people are succeeding at it. Some people are happy if they earned $100 a month.

It may not seem like a lot but it makes them a success because they know exactly what their goal is and they achieved it. Others want to earn a full-time income as an affiliate marketer and many who set out to achieve that goal are really doing it.

But what about the others that are failing. What are the failure strategies of the eight out of 10 people?

1. They jump around from one product to the next never making money on any. Because it’s free to join an affiliate program it’s tempting to think that the program is what is keeping you from succeeding.

In reality if you would focus on making money with one product before taking on another you avoid failure.

2. They do not set up a separate website. Using the replicated website is not a good strategy for success unless you drive massive amounts of traffic to it. Most
affiliate marketers never reach that level.

3. They do not own the product they try to promote. This may become less important as you promote more affiliate products.

However when you initially start out owning the product it gives you an advantage over your competitors. You can create a review page and really know what you’re talking about which will help you sell more.

4. They do not capture names and email addresses for future follow up. This is known as building an email marketing list and is the cornerstone of success for many top affiliate marketers. If you want to ensure your failure do not build a list.

5. They never generate meaningful traffic. If you do not get enough visitors to your website you will never make any sales. Thankfully two out of 10 affiliate marketers now get more traffic than they used to.

This is some of the affiliate marketing failure strategies that will ensure your failure. If you would like to succeed you should try doing these five things rather than not doing them.
